Emergency Services

Our Emergency Services may include: housing application fees, one-time rent or mortgage payment assistance, move-in costs for rental deposits, information and referrals, food pantry distributions, access to short-term loan of wheelchairs or Assistive Technology, or bus token, case management, etc.

Food Pantry

SVILC is a proud partner with the Second Harvest Food Bank. Each pantry at our locations receives replenishments every week to provide food to the community. Our pantry is available to anyone who needs food. We do have canned, dry, and perishable goods. Please note that some items are limited per household per month to ensure equal opportunity to others in need of food.

Financial Assistance

SVILC works with third-party financial organizations to assist those who have fallen behind on their rent or needing help finding their 1st month and deposit upon securing their new housing unit. Our staff will assist you in completing an application for funds and provide a list of personal documents needed for the third-party organization requests to begin processing. A submission is not guaranteed, or funding may run out for the month of your request has been sent in.

Public Safety Shut Off (PSPS)

As California experiences different bouts of weather, we are subject to wildfires and high winds, causing public safety power shut-offs (PSPS). SVILC partnered with PG&E to provides financial and direct services to individuals affected by PSPS, who require the use of Assistive technology (AT) Durable Medical Equipment (DME).

SVILC is a hub that you can notify if you are using a device or equipment that requires electricity to sustain yourself, such as an oxygen machine, refrigerator for medication, etc. If you have a disability that may be significantly affected by a power shut off, please contact our office to be listed on our Public Safety Power Shut-Off (PSPS) Event Call/E-mail List. Our list is here to call and notify you if you are in a potential shut off zone and provide further safety information.

Shelter

SVILC works collaboratively with many housing services agencies to ensure accessibility to people with disabilities; identify any physical barriers that can prevent access; temporary house individuals with disabilities who are at risk of homelessness; and locate/secure permanent housing.
